Krav Maga : Self-Defense and Close Combat

The frame of this discipline is self defence. It consists of variety of techniques, that will enable those persons who are attacked to avoid to be injured and at the same time to neutralize the aggressor. This part consists of blocks against a great range of different attacks like punches, kicks, chokes and grabs as well as against armed attacks. The practitioners learn to apply the principles of krav-maga in a variety of situations, even unfamiliar in unfavourable circumstances, that limit their freedom of action (like darkness, sitting or lying position). Close combat represents the advanced phase of krav-maga that teaches how to rapidly and efficiently neutralize an opponent. It includes all the elements of a real combat situation: tactics, feints, combinations of different attacks as well as all the psychological dimensions of a combat. The practitioners of krav-maga are proposed physical exercises as well as special mental discipline in order to reinforce mind and body, and to develop the ability to handle violent confrontations under the state of stress. Those methods has been used by most of Israeli elite combat units and were tested in real situations.
